How do I change the Encryption of my WiFi Network?

Encryption is another word for security, Simplifi offers 5 different forms of Encryption consistent with today’s routers;

  • WPA-PSKsupports TKIP(RC4).
  • WPA2-PSK
  • WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Mixed Mode
  • WPA-EAP
  • WPA2-EAP

All of these options are relavent in today’s standards.  We recommend WPA2-PSK as the default setting.  Changing these to other selections may best be discussed with your Network admin or IT professional.  To change these settings;

  1. Ensure you are connected to the Simplifi device either via WiFi or LAN cable
  2. Open a internet browser and enter 192.168.10.1 or in the event this doesn’t work, you can enter 192.168.2.1 which will work on either WiFi or LAN connection
    • Username - Simplifi
    • Password - found on the back of your device or on the label found on the packaging box
  3. Click Login > Network >> Wireless >>> Edit
    • Scroll down to the “Encryption” drop down and select the appropriate setting
  4. Click Save
